Jord Hexie

This weeks hexie is Jord, number 5 of #52weeksofhexies. Bymami crochets/designs a new hexie each week and the plan is to crochet them all together into a blanket in the end. The blanket will be named ‘Valkyrie’. Read more about the project and find the pattern for the first hexie here and see all the hexies here.

Important to know about the hexies: Some hexagons end with a stitch count of 60, while others end with 66 stitches. The uneven number of stitches will be aligned when the blanket is assembled in the end. Also, because of time pressure, the patterns have not been tested, so if you discover any mistakes, please let me know so I can fix it!

HOW ITS MADE
The pattern states where to begin each round, not how to begin it. All rounds are closed invisibly or using a slip stitch to the 1st stItch. The 1st stitch is replaced by ch1=1sc, ch2=1dc etc.

  1. In a magic ring, put 6 sc (6)
  2. In each sc, crochet *[1 sc, ch1, 1 sc]  (12 sc, 6 ch)
  3. Beg in a ch sp: *[dc2tog, ch2, dc2tog], ch1*, repeat 5x more (30)
  4. Beg in a ch2 ch sp: *5 dc in ch, ch1, 1 sc in next ch sp, ch1*, repeat 5x more (48)
  5. Beg in a sc: *[2 dc, ch1 (corner st), 2 dc]. Now crochet back post stitches around each of the next 5 st as follows: 1 bpdc, 3 bphdc, 1 bpdc*. Repeat 5x more (60)
  6. In a corner crochet *[1 sc, ch1, 1 sc], SK the 1st stitch after the corner, 8 sc. Repeat 6x total (66)
