Alva is number 9 of #52weeksofhexies. Bymami crochets/designs a new hexie each week and the plan is to crochet them all together into a blanket in the end. The blanket will be named ‘Valkyrie’. Read more about the project and find the pattern for the first hexie here and see all the hexies here.
Important to know about the hexies: Some hexagons end with a stitch count of 60, while others end with 66 stitches. The uneven number of stitches will be aligned when the blanket is assembled in the end. Also, because of time pressure, the patterns have not been tested, so if you discover any mistakes, please let me know so I can fix it!Hexie #9 Alva

HOW ITS MADE
The pattern states where to begin each round, not how to begin it. All rounds are closed invisibly or using a slip stitch to the 1st stItch. The 1st stitch is replaced by ch1=1sc, ch2=1dc etc.
- In a magic ring, crochet *dc3tog, ch3*. Repeat 6x total (6 dc3tog, 6 ch3)
- Beg in the middle of a ch3 and crochet *dc3tog, ch3, dc6tog over 2 chains like so: the first three ‘legs’ in the same ch3 as dc3tog, the next three ‘legs’ into the following ch3, ch3*. Rep 6x total (6 dc3tog, 6 dc6tog, 12 ch3 chains)
- Beg in the ch3 right before a dc3tog: *dc2tog, ch2, dc4tog over 2 chains (2 ‘legs’ in each ch), ch2, dc2tog in the same ch, ch1, dc4tog over 2 chains, ch1*. Rep 6x total (12 dc2tog, 12 dc4tog, 12 ch2 , 12 ch1)
- Beg in dc4tog located between 2 ch2: *[1 sc, ch1, 1 sc] in dc4tog, 2 sc in ch2 sp, 2 sc in ch sp, 2 sc in next ch sp, 2 sc in ch2 sp*. Repeat a total of 6x (66)
